Instructional Design

Reading about different instructional designs this past week in the EDCI 337 course was very intriguing. Learning how to craft a successful lessons plan can be very engaging for students who are learning to become educators or teachers. The key Idea was so that students can learn the outcomes of the lessons, and learn new skills in the activity performed.

Some of the lesson planning, such as writing the planning for outcomes I found rather outdated, many of the teachers have used this theory in the past and it has been successful. but with a new presence of students, students are not learning as they used to. example Bloom’s Taxonomy new to be replaced with a new learning strategy.

The model of instructional design that resonated with me most was the 3 M’s

  • Meaningful: How does the outcome support a broader goal?
  • Manageable: What is needed to foster the achievement of the outcome? Is the outcome realistic?
  • Measurable: How will you know if the outcome is achieved? What is the assessment method?

Because this structure has great footwork to work with you can rewrite to your own lesson style which is what creates a post successful teacher or educator.

Use an evaluation chart to better understand your students and where you can improve in the future, also to learn what your students learned and where you can help and adapt to them so they have a better learning environment. In my past experiences, I have had good and bad responses to group projects with an evaluation and learning outcomes not planned accordingly. One of the reasons is the educator did not plan lessons properly, and most of the students had to ask a lot of guidance questions in order to understand the assigned project. One of the first steps for lessons planning is to ask questions yourself that you think the students would ask. A good thought to lessons planning and outcome/evaluations is to do the project yourself first so you can overcome any errors first. If these steps were taken first my experience surely would have been a better outcome.

Learning different ways to lesson planning from the lesson outlined today will help me address ay issue’s for my upcoming assignment 4.

Love your blog design and your blog especially the example of the Evaluation chart. If every teacher can use a chart, the school will become easier. Teachers can change their teaching plans if any of their students have any problems.

    Hi,
thanks for sharing your ideas! I agree that a good lesson plan would help to improve the quality of education. Your explanation of 3Ms is concise but very clear, and the pictures you choose match the content well. Great blog!
